We are delighted to announce the appointment of our New Executive Chef in September 2019. Maya Resorts would like to extend the warm welcome to the newest member of the culinary team, Gildas Perin. Born in Normandy, France he has more than 8 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant industries at various international locations in France, Shanghai and Taiwan. Famous for its variety and flavors, French cuisine is one of the best in the world. The top list of best restaurants and great Chefs make this country as a home of a world-class leading cuisine.
His first cooking experience began at 15 years-old. He reached Associate’s Degree in 2011 in Hotel management and Culinary Arts. His first tenure was started in Hotel Royal Barriere Deauville, France as Demi Chef De Partie. He had previously been responsible for some Michelin Starred restaurants, an iconic hallmark standard to indicate restaurants according to their quality. After his 6 years gaining experience in France he decided to move in Taiwan in the early of 2017 and was appointed as Executive Sous Chef.
With a strong background in exquisite French cuisine and his familiarity with an authentic taste of Taiwanese dishes he will surely bring delicious cravings to your table.

Young and talented, the 27 year old Chef has been appointed to responsible managing both properties’ dining facilities and enhancing guests’ dining experience. Excellent cooking skill is the most important part to be a great Chef. While maintaining technical skills, strong leadership and innovation of the brand-new ideas also play an important role in hospitality industry.
“To successfully manage a team, you have to trust and learn to let go. If you train your staff well and have a good relationship with them, trust is established and you can focus on guest experience” he added.
